Foodbank

There was another excellent effort at the Tesco Kilbirnie collection on Thurs 30th November. Fri 1st and Sat 2nd December 2017, Thanks to all who volunteered and to the very generous people of the Garnock Valley who as always supported us with their donations of food. There will be another similar event later in the year, although the dates are yet to be confirmed.

Week by week giving of food items at the church door are increasing markedly. This is very much appreciated as stocks at the food bank have been very low in recent weeks.

Lights and Laughter

Back at the beginning of December we had an enjoyable and worthwhile evening at Lights and Laughter. The weather was kind, soup and Fair Trade hot chocolate were well received and £120 was collected for Christian Aid, Thanks once again to Catherine McCarter for preparing and donating soup and to Gordon Young for setting everything up for us.

World Mission Stamp Appeal

Many thanks to all who continue to donate their used stamps, We had a very good response over the Christmas period. An update on the total sum raised and the current projects supported will be notified as soon as details are available.

Flyers

Christmas Flyers were delivered to almost every home in the Parish this year, despite the bad weather and endemic ‘flu bugs!  Thanks to all who helped.

Laigh Court

We were pleased to lead the service in the Laigh Court on Sun 10th December. This was a busy, happy occasion with carol singers joining us for the service and refreshments,

Grey Cakes Bake and Sale

This Crossreach fundraising initiative is to support those with mental health issues. Colourful cakes are baked with their true colours hidden by grey coverings. This symbolises the world of someone with mental health problems, where the fog of anxiety and depression overwhelms an inner vibrant person Watch this space for details of our event later in the year,
