Letter from America
It is a pleasure to share a letter which was received from a website viewer in America. It is lovely to see that although we cannot gather together in service at the moment, the service presented on the website has been shared in the USA and is available to all who have connections with Beith.
Dear Pastor MacDonald,
It was good to find Beith Kirk has a great Pastor!
My dad was raised in Beith Kirk, when at 11:00 Sunday Morning Service, the doors were locked. (Too bad, if you were late)
There were many good stories Dad would tell about the love he had for the people and closeness he felt, with the Kirk. This positive connection, led him into ministry in America.
Even though he has passed away, my family and I, feel close to the Kirk, even though we live far away.
Tonight, I was curious to check up on the Beith Kirk, finding your cheery website.
Your organist, now retired, is adorable and those hands in the air, with the joyous smile, was delightful. How could anyone not have a smile on their face seeing that picture?
It was a Winner! What a great advertisement for the Kirk!
On the site, I found the recorded parts, listening to many sections. It felt like I was there, at the church, with my dad. When I heard you speak, it brought back memories. (I miss the wonderful brogue) Nothing like a thick Scottish brogue! (It got thicker wen around the Scots.) In the USA, you can hypnotize church goers, with that brogue. Weekly, Dad would get comments about his beautiful accent.
You are just perfect for the ministry. As I listened, your warm kind words of hope and inspiration to the parishioners was special, so needed in this critical time in all our lives.
It was as though you were speaking individually, to each person in the church. All done, with sincerity —- but with the glimmer of the rejoicing, for the joy to come, when the congregants Worship in person together, as a family.
‘Just had to write a note to you to let you know, how special you are in this particular place where you are spreading God’s Love and serving His flock.
The Best to you and your Family,
BJ Willis
